About Us
Our history
NEON is a 501(c)3 nonprofit health collaborative serving Baker, Grant, Malheur, Morrow, Umatilla, Union, and Wallowa Counties in Eastern Oregon. NEON launched in 2004 from a small group of individuals who recognized the value of community collaboration in supporting the health of our residents.
Our mission is to support individuals, communities, and systems to collectively promote equity, health, and wellbeing at home and beyond.
Our values
NEON is committed to driving Collective Change by fostering a collaborative environment where diverse voices are heard and valued. We do this through the following core values.
We care about people.
As members of the communities we serve, we take pride in the work that we do. We dedicate our time to serving the community with integrity, compassion, and empathy. We lead by example to make our community the best it can be.
Community and Collaboration
Community is at the heart of everything we do. Being focused on community and collaboration enables us to respond to community needs and advocate for change. We achieve this by listening to individuals, partners, and other stakeholders to make a positive impact on our community.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging means actively embracing diverse perspectives and lived experiences. This approach helps us reduce barriers and increase access to valuable community resources. We meet the community where they are at through practicing cultural humility and continuing our growth as an organization.
Providing High Quality Services
We are committed to providing high-quality services that positively impact our community. Using a strengths-based approach, we build upon existing infrastructure while adapting to our ever-changing world. Filling gaps in community services is what we do best, and we continuously strive to meet the evolving needs of our communities.
